More Nothing...

Since this is a "blog about nothing" and my complete lack of anything else to write about lately, I figured I'd show my collection of various button pins left over from the days I owned a health food store. I must have a trunkful of these somewhere around this house! Every vendor passed out plenty of them, and I just tossed them in a box over the years and forgot about them.

Some others are from who knows where. I don't sew or have ever belonged to a union. I think the Grand kids watched the Ninja Turtles while they were popular.

The oldest in the bunch is the Barry Goldwater button. Mr. Goldwater was an Arizona native who ran for President in 1964, with the campaign slogan, "In your gut you know he is right." He always said exactly what was on his mind and that cost him the election to Lyndon Johnson. I'm guessing on this as I was a young mother not interested at all in politics in those days.

These are going in the Goodwill box--another useless possession that keeps me attached to the past! Clutter often creeps back into my life but I find that at this age it is easier to release all the litter! According to the Chinese art of Feng Shui, "clutter clearing" is powerful and will bring amazing life changes. I wonder how much more I need to get rid of before the "purification" rewards come my way?

Well, that is cool that you owned a health food store! Awesome!

It is true that you will reap some new rewards when you clear your clutter! It has always happened for me! You will be very happy, at a minimum that you have a clean house for the qi to move through freely!!!

Too bad you can't sell these pins to a dealer...many people collect them I think!

I remember the pin craze of the 80's... I think I still have a few rock band ones around here.

Julie's right, there are people who collect these things... the Goldwater pin and the Ninja turtles pin are both worth about 5 bucks each... the others aren't neccesarily.

I've taken to having a large trash bin in the house that's nothing but stuff going to goodwill. Even being a flea market dealer, there's just some stuff I'm not willing to deal with. I come from a family of pack rats, and for some reason a bunch of their stuff ended up here. I figure if they wanted it, they'd have it, so it's going...

PS: looking forward to the cemetary you said you were looking into...

This was a cool post! I've a little pin collection with a few older ones in it, but mostly just ones I've got a real old "Blondie" from the Dagwood cartoon, that is probably my oldest.

You have quite a collection there!! I hate parting with things I've kept for years, but I think "clutter clearing" is necessary and good for you!
By the way, I love the "I heart to sew" pin- that's too cute!!
