The first rain we had washed all my wildflower seeds from the side yard into this corner spot. The seeds in the front stayed where I planted them and they are just as plentiful .. Coming soon: A spectacular display of WILDFLOWERS!

BIRD BATH PHASE
In one month I made seven bird baths for family gifts. Probaly won't ever make another one! I made some with tile and one with stained glass. The easiest ones were made with marbles. I never had the patience to use a pattern and I tend to throw things together. I like to finish projects in three hours or less! Imagine my frustration in planting seeds and waiting......, or making a quilt--ugh!

Wild Thing & Turr Tull
This little guy came to my patio looking for a bite to eat. I grabbed my camerea and took the photo. I think it's a prarie dog.
This is my pet turtle. I've had him for over 10 years. He was just a baby when my daughter got him for my grandson. They kept him in a terrarium for several years until he was too big. I adopted him and he's lived in my backyard ever since. When it storms, he comes to the patio door and scratches, trying to get in the house. I guess he's scared.
Family History
My Uncle Walter slept in the same room, in this bed, for over 65 years. It was never moved from the spot where it was placed. The bed was brought to the farm home in 1917 when the house was built. Uncle was just over six feet tall, and he slept on this twin-sized bed without a single complaint all those years.
I acquired the bed from the family silent auction after his death in 1993. He was 93 years young. He never married, instead he choose to stay and take care of the family farm and his widowed mother and handicapped brother. In the winter of his life I asked him if he had any regrets. He thought for a moment and said he missed not having a wife and children. But then, ever the diplomat, added, "instead, I have seven nieces and nephews that have brought me happiness."
I don't ever remember him being ill. He was incredibly active for his years. At 89, after surviving a 25-foot fall from a tree he was trimming with only a broken hip, he healed and continued his active farming life. At age 93, a tractor accident finally took his life.
A most noble man was he.

Perfect favorite day
Today was perfect! Clear skies, about 65ºF, wearing shorts weather, with chores finished, and an invitation to explore the desert. I could not resist! My favorite pastime is driving deep into the desert to climb the mountains and hike in the dry washes, called arroyos out here. I like to pick up rocks and old wood as embellishments for my garden, and to breathe in the fragrance of the desert flora as I gather items in hushed SILENCE.
I have a bottle of cologne (Morning Dew) that has the same scent of the desert. I found it many years ago at a western store in Wickenburg, Arizona. It's always on my gift list. On the way home from our desert wanderings, we always stop for a cheese crisp with extra hot sauce from our favorite Mexican food restaurant. It’s the finishing flourish to our fantastic, marvelous, perfect day!!!

Delighted and Elated
Today I'm DELIGHTED! My bathroom remodel is complete! During the redo I started to declutter, purge, and organize my whole house! No small task for me --never one to acquire any of the three habits! It is getting easier to let go of the things I thought I needed to make me happy! Oh, the money I wasted on the shallow, trivial and foolish thingamajigs! Getting rid of the disorder has made me feel like the clouds--weightless, airy and free! Well, not weightless--that is another story.
Today I'm ELATED! I had my house professionally cleaned! Nothing more to say!
